Work with Me

My goal? To help you bulldoze through life’s roadblocks, stick to your values, flex your strengths, and walk away with a toolkit that actually works, long after our sessions are over.

No fluff, just forward momentum.

At Sayra C Therapy, we provide virtual therapy for women, teenagers, and men in Miami Beach and beyond who are navigating major life transitions such as divorce/relationship struggles, job relocation, postpartum, parenting challenges, and college transitions. Our goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self while managing the stress and uncertainty that often comes with change.

Our therapy approach is collaborative and practical. We meet you exactly where you are and create a realistic plan with smaller, manageable goals that lead to meaningful, long-term growth. Using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with solution-focused and strength-based approaches, we work together to help you feel more in control, aligned with who you are, and confident about where you’re going.

About My Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a structured, goal-oriented form of therapy that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more balanced, realistic thoughts, which can lead to healthier emotional responses and behaviors. CBT is practical, skills-based, and typically focuses on present challenges rather than only past experiences.

Talk Therapy

Talk Therapy, is a form of counseling where a person speaks with a trained therapist about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. It helps individuals better understand themselves, process emotions, work through challenges, and develop healthier ways of coping. The goal is to gain insight, build skills, and create positive changes in thinking, behavior, and relationships.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy is a type of therapy that helps people see their problems as separate from who they are. It focuses on the stories people tell about their lives and helps them reshape those stories in ways that highlight their strengths, values, and abilities. The goal is to create a more empowering and hopeful view of themselves and their experiences.

Solution-Focused Techniques

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented approach to therapy that focuses on finding solutions rather than analyzing problems. It helps people identify their strengths, resources, and past successes to create practical steps toward positive change. The focus is on what is working and how to build

About Sayra

Sayra C Besner headshot, therapist in Florida

Hi, I’m Sayra Besner, LCSW, a licensed therapist based in Miami Beach, Florida, providing virtual therapy across South Florida and throughout the state of Florida. I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and unexpected plot twists with compassion, honesty, and a little bit of humor along the way.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Barry University in 2007 and began my career in New York City, where I served as the Director of an outpatient mental health clinic and later managed a halfway house for women with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These early professional experiences shaped my deep respect for resilience, recovery, and the power of supportive therapeutic relationships.

Later, I stepped away from my professional role to focus on raising my two children. During that time, I also experienced postpartum depression, which gave me a deeply personal understanding of the emotional complexities that can come with parenthood, identity shifts, and major life transitions. That experience strengthened my commitment to supporting others through the real, imperfect, and often overwhelming moments of life.

Today, as a single mom and private practice therapist, I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a special focus on women’s mental health, life transitions, relationship challenges, divorce, parenting stress, anxiety, and self-esteem. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where you can be honest about what you’re going through without judgment.

Through virtual therapy sessions for clients in Miami Beach, South Florida, and across Florida, my goal is to help you gain clarity, build emotional resilience, and move toward the life you want, while remembering that healing doesn’t always have to be so serious. Sometimes laughter is part of the process too.
